The Workplace Partners Panel released its findings from its fifth Viewpoints Survey, which canvassed business, labour, and public sector leaders on critical issues facing Canada, including its growing shortage of skilled workers.
Reflecting its concerns about the skills challenges facing our country, the Canadian Labour and Business Centre, with support from Human Resources and Social Development Canada, created the Workplace Partners Panel (WPP). This initiative allows business and labour to take a lead role in examining skills shortages and demographic issues, identifying their key features, and proposing directions for governments, business and labour to address these issues. The Viewpoints Survey is a key component of this initiative. Findings from the survey have helped inform the WPP Regional Task Forces created to date in Saskatchewan and Atlantic Canada.
