This report was prepared for the Saskatchewan Task Force of the Workplace Partners Panel, a national initiative managed by the Canadian Labour and Business Council.  The purpose of the document is to provide up-to-date information, statistics, analysis, and commentary pertaining to the key issues stemming from the Workplace Partners Panel's Saskatchewan task force theme of "skills needs in the context of an aging workforce".  Every attempt is made to ensure that the statistics are chosen from reliable sources, typically Statistics Canada, but the reader should be aware that Statistics Canada routinely revises population and economic time series retroactively, sometimes in a significant way.  The opinions expressed in this document are those of the author and do not necessarily represent the views of the Canadian Labour and Business Council or of its employees.
