On June 25, 2004, over 40 people attended a seminar with Jay Derrick, a consultant with the National Research and Development Centre for adult literacy and numeracy. The participants represented business, labour, government, sector councils, non-government organizations, and literacy practitioners. They heard an excellent presentation on the latest research and policy developments in the UK. The CLBC was able to host this seminar in partnership with the Centre for Literacy at Dawson College in Montréal.
