Business and Labour launch dialogue on skill shortages facing Nova Scotia
Halifax, NS - The Workplace Partners Panel (WPP), a collaborative initiative led by business and labour leaders, is holding stakeholder sessions throughout the Atlantic region. Through the Atlantic Provinces WPP Task Force, labour and business leaders have agreed to form an unusual alliance to lead an important discussion on long term solutions to the labour market challenges arising from Nova Scotia’s aging workforce. Gathering representatives from business and labour, the community, education sector, and all levels of government, the WPP hopes to influence stakeholders and mobilize those who can – and should – be involved in addressing this very serious issue.
The WPP is governed and managed by the Canadian Labour and Business Centre. Similar task forces and stakeholder sessions will be held throughout Canada. The first Atlantic session will take place in Halifax, followed by St. John’s, Moncton and Charlottetown. The WPP will hold a press conference in Halifax to discuss the project and the potential outcomes.
